This wed night we will be shooting cost of £2 meet at the Nomads HQ at 7pm. turton bring a flak jacket!!
Next weekend we have organised a camp at bispham hall we will be walking out on the friday camping doing activitie that quirky has organised then walking back on the sunday cost of the camp is £20 to include food if you are interested please contact me.

Walking Boots (NOT trainers, fell shoes or cross-trainers!)
lightweight trousers (not jeans)
Full waterproofs (that’s a jacket with a hood, AND waterproof trousers)
Rucsac with 2 straps and lid
at least 2 litres of liquid. (NOT energy drinks – they are NOT to be
consmed on DESC at all. Leaders, please make your youngsters aware of
emergency rations (couple of mars bars etc)
Base layer (t-shirt – ideally NOT cotton – it holds sweat & mings!)
Warm layer (fleece & hoody)
Rucsac liner or everything in plastic bags in case it rains
Compass if you have one
Whistle if you have one
Sense of purpose if you have one
Gaiters if you’ve gottem.
Personal first aid kit (plasters, bandage, personal meds)
A few quid in change for emergency ice cream etc.
Everything the same as above, but trainers are ok.
Gloves are VITAL
eye protection (shades) if you’ve got them
Personal biking clobber if you’ve got it
Same as walking.
Personal climbing kit if you have it
Full change of clothes
Seperate pair of footwear (your footwear will end up soaking wet and will
take ages to dry – do NOT use your footwear you need at GT!).
Bag for wet stuff
2 litres drink
Rucsac to chuck everything into
Warm stuff (hat/gloves)
*And here’s who’s on wot*. I’m afraid that as so many leaders put their
numbers in late, I’ve struggled to get leaders for certain activities, and
so there’s quite a few people that have got their 3rd or 4th choices.
Activities were allocated when closing date hit, and then people after then
got what was left.

Stuff you need to know about DESC – The District Explorer Scout Camp:
- This happens every year, on the 3rd weekend in March.
- It’s always at Great Tower campsite, in the Lake District.
- It’s open to all Explorers and Explorer leaders in Ormskirk only.
- You’ll meet new people, do some events, probably play some daft games and have a laugh.
- It’s the one chance each year that we get to get together with no other disturbances!
Come and meet new guys and girls – from all over the District in our annual camp just for you!
